Let Me Love
Can we truly love another
before we have tenderly embraced our own heart?
When we are shattered into a million pieces,
can we love?

Crawling on our bleeding knees,
gathering the pieces,
attempting to mold ourselves
into something worthy.
Longing feels as vast
as the ocean wide,
it has the strength
to blanket us in shame.
I no longer want to live this lie.
I choose the Light.
I beg of you,
let me bask in this splendor a moment longer.
Bath in the warmth of the morning sun.
Inhale the intoxicating aroma of jasmine.
Wade in the cool waters, pebbles beneath my feet.
Melt into the touch of another,
My deepest desire is to let it linger for eternity.
Bury me not
for I want to live this life anew.
I do not know how
yet I pray to the Gods they will guide me.
Through the dense forest,
dark starlit sky,
stumbling over roots
and sharp rock.
I am blind.
Grant me a vision
of the way forward.
When I fall,
defeated and lost,
pick me up.
Whisper softly,
"Darling, I love you.
I promise to never let you go."
